      SERBIAN FLAG This
is a Serbian flag - actualy, a Serbian Orthodox Church Flag (since it's got a cross
(symbol of Serbian christianity) with four C letters (ocila), which represent stones used
to build a fireplace, a symbol of home. This four C's (S's in Serbian Cyrillic) stand for
a slogan "Samo Sloga Srbina Spasava" - translates as "Only Unity Protects
      Serbs"). |

      SERBIAN NATIONAL AMBLEM National
Amblem with two-headed Eagle has been used in Serbia since late 19th century. This amblem
presented here is of a newer date since it has a shield devided in four parts displaying,
Serbian cross with four C letters, in the upper left part, and Montenegran Lion, in the
upper right part. Original amblem had only Serbian Cross across the whole shield. |

      SERBIAN CYRILLIC LETTERS Serbian
Cyrillic, although to a non-slav may seem same to Russian or Bulgarian Cyrillic, is really
quite unique. Serbs think their cyrillic is the most perfect alphabet in the world,
because of it's unique "one letter represents one voice" phylosophy. In Serbian
cyrillic, each voice that can be pronnounced in a word is indicated by only and exactly
one letter. Ther can be no inperfections as "The" pronnounced as "D"
in English, for instance, of "Ch" indicating "H" as in Czech, or
"NJ", "LJ" or "DJ" to indicate one voice, as in Croatian. |
